For many years, I have struggled with my weight. I had a baby every two years for 12 years straight and pretty much gained some weight with each one. I have been on all kinds of diets and extreme exercising to try to get the weight off. At one point, I joined a Biggest Loser competition at my local gym and was determined to win. I bought into the idea that if I cut my calories and worked out a lot, I would do well. It started off great. I was losing at a good pace and then my weight loss just stopped. I didn’t know what else to do but exercise more and eat even less. By the end of the competition, I was running 50 miles a week as well as 2 hours of cycling class and eating between 900 to 1200 calories a day. I did win the competition, but it was at a great cost to my body.

Have you noticed that it’s really hard to find a meal that is both low-fat and low-carb that tastes good and satisfies? I have been desperately trying to incorporate these types of meals into my diet but I found most of them to be very bland and I was usually hungry shortly after eating.
