My 100 Book Bucket List


Toward the end of 2015, I read my first Jane Austen novel, Pride and Prejudice. I am hesitant to admit that because I am an avid reader. I love reading. I always have. My first memory of reading is actually my first memory ever. I was about four and I thought I knew how to read. I sat down with, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, with my dad and proceeded to “read” it to him. I had the book memorized and he only realized that I wasn’t actually reading it when I said the words that were on a page that we hadn’t turned to yet. (more…)

My name is Cindy Rodgers and to tell you who I am, I’d like to explain the name of my website and blog, Tapestry Of Our Lives. When I first thought of that name, I admit, the song, “Dream Weaver,” came to mind and I pictured some old artisan leaning over their loom, honing their craft. I am not a loomist, which is quite evident by the fact that I’m pretty sure a loomist is not what they are called. I am, however, a great, many things…

I’m a wife of more than two decades. I am a mother to six.

Blackened Stuffed Salmon

I’m sure you are like me when you see those short little recipe videos where they make something absolutely mouth-watering and they make it look so quick and easy. I almost always want to make them but generally they are forgotten as soon as a funny cat video pops up. Not so with this recipe. This one stuck with me. I am a huge fan of salmon. In my opinion, it is the super food of super foods. It is packed with protein, high in omega-3 fatty acids, and, when cooked properly, is utterly delicious. (more…)
